interview Andreas Gross

It is quite propable that our readers have already read some reviews regarding Andreas Gross.Since,I have presented 2 of this project's works,in the not-so-distant past,I felt the urge of contacting the artist himself,in order to get his views on several subjects..So,as a result, you can check our lovely conversation, here:

Scarlet Soho-Hit The Floor-Favorites And Rarities

Artist:
Scarlet Soho
Release:
Hit The Floor-Favorites And Rarities
Label:
A Different Drum

This disc is a collection of this project's work, containing tracks from Scarlet Soho's previous efforts, including 6 previously unreleased songs,as well. Now,if I had to describe this band's sound,my guess would be that they move around a pop/electro spectacle, for the most part,at least.

Tiny Boys-Tiny Boys

Well,Tiny Boys...There must be something nice going on in Sweden, really, musically speaking,at least! The reason for making this statement is that I've listened to a lot of swedish bands lately, who have literally exceeded my expectations. And believe me,by that I do not mean the famous ones...To our topic then:this band's music could be categorised as an eclectic blend of energetic indie/post punk rhythms, full of melody, along with Camilla Karisson's gorgeous voice.

Dark Plain-Breathe

In the end, music can be simple, yet when it comes straight from the heart,it can reach certain levels of beauty. There is certainly no place for anxiety,or hysteria. You just have to feel and,at the same time, possess the ability to transcend this feeling in a simple, vital way,in order to touch the listener's emotions. And that is the result of the listening session of Dark Plain's debut, simply called,"Breathe".

Mundtot-Spatsommer

Artist:
Mundtot
Release:
Spatsommer
Label:
Echozone

What we are dealing here is Mundtot's debut full length. This band obviously comes from Germany, something evident since their compositions are sang in their native tongue.Prior to this disc, they had released an ep,which was simply called"Endzeit".This band's orientation could be traced along the lines of alternative rock,as well as modern gothic rock. The first thing that someone notices,is the central role that is reserved for Tino's vocals.Indeed,it is Tino Wagner's charismatic performance that ultimately leads these songs. Now,that certainly does not mean that ther

Conscience-Your Frequency

Artist:
Conscience
Release:
Your Frequency
Label:
Echozone

Starting of,I need to state that the artwork accompanying this disc,is simply amazing!A beautiful digipack,in minimal, black and white overtones!Iknow,it is impossible to judge a book by its cover.Yet,my first impression upon seeing this cd,was overwhelmingly well, for that matter.Moving on,some needed information regarding Conscience should be given:this,in fact,is a solo project, led by Rudiger Illg, who started creating music, back in 1991.Which is a trully long period really,in during which he has released several albums,so far.

Principe Valiente - Principe Valiente

Artist:
Principe Valiente
Release:
Principe Valiente
Label:

While listening to the self-titled debut album of Sweden’s very own Principe Valiente, I cannot help but think that rock music is definitely in the blood of the Swedish. Despite all the critically acclaimed metal bands there is also an active indie/post/punk scene which indeed worth of our attention.

White Rose Transmission - Spinning Webs At Night

Artist:
White Rose Transmission
Release:
Spinning Webs At Night
Label:
Echozone

While not exactly being a famous band, White Rose Transmission could in fact be regarded as a super-group. I usually do not use this rather dull term, but on the other hand, there is no other way to describe this band:originally formed back in 1995 by Carlo Van Putten(The Convent) and most notably perhaps, Adrian Borland(The Sound). Unfortunately, White Rose Transmission never received the attention they deserved, especially if compared to the massive success, both in terms of musicianship, but also,in terms of recognition, that Sound enjoyed back then.

Principe Valiente

The Stockholm based band has in a short time gained a reputation for their live shows and are the subject of an increasing interest in their material in clubs and social networks on the internet. Their sound may partly be the result of a variety of elements inspired by the minimalism of certain post punk acts and the lushness of shoegaze, but is primarily characterized by an ambition to break new sonic ground. Here is an interview with Fernando Honorato for subexistance.

Andreas Gross - Autumn Inventors

Artist:
Andreas Gross
Release:
Autumn Inventors
Label:
Echozone

My first notice concerning this disc was:yet another Echozone release for me to review! And a very good one,I might add..My second notice about it was how wonderfully titled this album is!I could say that"Autumn Inventors"almost sounds poetic to my ears. And what's more it perfectly fits as a description to the majority of the sounds exemplified within this cd.
